Sesame seeds and honey sourdough crackers
/ easy and quick way to use the leftover starter/
It is the season ( if there is a season) for red wine and cheese, hearty food and candlelight, right?
Those easy to make ( most of the crackers are very easy to make but those are particularly easy) flavoursome and versatile crackers are perfect for any type of cheese, dip or just enjoyed on its own.
As they are not sweet nor savoury, they are light and super healthy too.
Add the ingredients in the order of the recipe, but first mix the starter and the water, as per the video, followed by the olive oil and honey.
The dry ingredients are to follow.
You will need:
30g Water
100g Starter - shouldn’t be over 3 days old
15g Honey
30g Olive oil
55g Porridge Oats
45g Sesame seeds
35g Rye flour
15g Wholemeal flour
Mix the ingredients very well and leave the dough to proof for at least an hour.
Using a rolling pin make a thin sheet of the dough and cut in the desired shape.
Bake at 190 Degrees for about 13 minutes.
Tip, most of the time when I use a leftover starter, I would mix it with the liquid and then would add the rest of the ingredients.
If you don’t like the taste of sesame seeds, you can use any other seeds to replace them.
